Risk Assistant I
Position Overview
Work directly with our Risk Department, focusing on workers’ compensation risk and claims management. Fast-paced administration of insurance policy, quoting, rating and renewals. Safety program administration, ensuring compliance with safety and risk standards.
Essential Job Functions of this Position
Workers Compensation
- Quote, rate new prospects, present rates to the sales department, bind policy coverage, and set up new client rates with our system department.
- Administer policy rates in the systems of record.
- Produce any additional workers comp documents for the new client required by the state.
- Set up and execute CRM tasks and cases.
- Complete ERM- 14
- Assist with workers’ compensation policy renewals, policy takeovers and broker of record.
- Request and produce certificate of insurance (COI)
- Capture documents in SharePoint.
- Mentor Risk Assistant
- Manage Risk Management Shared Email.
- Quote EPLI and bill EPLI final balance upon termination.
- Manage audits to complete updates or terms.
- Provide backup for claim submission.
- Communicate how to access and complete forms and procedures to client needed to file claim.
- Track and measure claims activity.
- Work in multiple Systems: Prism, Report Center, Client Space, Business Intelligence, i3, Zywave, LMS, etc.
- Exhibit confidentiality and attention to details.
Certificate of Insurance /Waiver of Subrogation
- Use certificate exchange to create Certificates of Insurance (COI)
- Communicate with Risk Transfer to request Wavier of Subrogation (WOS) as well as COIs.
- Ensure all requirements are met for these requests.
Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA)
- Support documentation of claims.
- Support with preparation of annual OSHA 300 Report, OSHA 300 A summary reports, and make available to clients as needed.

Requirements
- Proficient with MS Excel
- Proficient with Prism/Client Space
- Attention to details
- Solid understanding of workers compensation insurance terminology
- Experience with various insurance practices and terminology
- Excellent written and verbal skills
- Ability to work independently and in a team.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to prioritize tasks.
- Fluent in Systems: Prism, Report Center, Client Space, Microsoft, SharePoint, Teams, Adobe, Web, i3 and Excel.
- Cross training all aspects of risk and systems
- OSHA 30 Certified
Physical Demands and Work Environment
While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to use hands or finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, sit; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
